Afghanistan Vows Retaliation Amid Pakistani Airstrikes

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Afghanistan‘s government has vowed retaliation following airstrikes conducted by Pakistan early this morning. Official statements from the Afghan government indicate that at least three civilians were killed and three others injured during the Pakistani aerial assaults.

The Afghan government has strongly condemned these attacks and stated its intention to respond at a time and place of its choosing. Earlier reports confirmed that the Pakistani airstrikes, targeting Kunar Province in eastern Afghanistan on Monday morning, resulted in the deaths of at least three individuals and injuries to four others. Sources familiar with the matter reported that the airstrikes commenced at approximately 3:00 AM local time, striking a residence in the Batan area of Nurgal. Further attacks were also reported in the Baraml district of the border province of Paktika.

The Pakistani military had previously announced on Sunday that six of its soldiers were killed amid escalating tensions in the country’s northwest, near the border with Afghanistan. These recent airstrikes transpire against a backdrop of increasing friction between the two nations. Islamabad had previously accused Afghan officials of harboring elements of the Pakistani Taliban, responsible for carrying out attacks against Pakistan. The Afghan Taliban, however, has denied these allegations.
