United Russia Dominates Duma Elections Amidst High Turnout

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United Russia party, closely aligned with President Vladimir Putin, has emerged victorious in the Russian Duma elections, capturing more than 57 percent of the counted votes. This information was released by Sputnik, citing data published by the Mehr News Agency.

Russia’s Central Election Commission announced on Monday that 90 percent of the votes in the election have been processed. Following United Russia, the Communist Party of Russia has secured 13.84 percent of the votes, while the Liberal Democratic Party received 8.90 percent. The New People party garnered 7.94 percent, and A Just Russia obtained 4.95 percent of the ballots.

Polling stations for the ninth round of Russian Duma elections closed on Sunday afternoon after three days of voting. The voter turnout exceeded 56 percent, surpassing the participation rate recorded in 2021.

The President of Kazakhstan extended congratulations to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on the successful conduct of the elections.
