UN Chief Guterres: Military Might Alone Cannot Guarantee Security
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres stated that military power by itself is insufficient to ensure security, emphasizing the devastating human cost of recent conflicts during a UN General Assembly session.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres declared on Tuesday that military might alone cannot guarantee security. Speaking at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Guterres highlighted the destructive nature of wars in the past decade, which have continued with horrific brutality.
He further elaborated that civilians have been targeted, human rights have been violated, and starvation has been employed as a weapon during these conflicts. Guterres stressed that economic power, like military power, is not a sole guarantor of stability.
