Saudi Airstrike Kills Nine Prisoners in Yemen’s Al Jawf

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Abdul Qadir Al-Mortada, head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs in Yemen, announced that the Saudi regime targeted a prison in the city of Al Hazm, located in Al Jawf province, where a number of prisoners were being held. This nighttime strike resulted in the deaths of nine individuals involved in recent incidents, with their names to be released soon.

Concurrently, the human rights center ‘Ain Al Insaniyah’ issued a strong condemnation of Saudi Arabia’s attack on the prison in Al Hazm city, Al Jawf province, Yemen, which led to the fatalities of nine prisoners. The human rights center emphasized that targeting detention facilities and individuals deprived of their liberty constitutes a highly dangerous violation of international humanitarian law principles.

The statement further asserted that attacking prisoners and their holding facilities, regardless of any justification, is a clear breach of international conventions, and those responsible must be held accountable. The human rights center pointed out that the targeting of prisoners by the Saudi enemy, particularly those who had previously fought for the Saudi forces, raises serious and critical questions, necessitating independent investigations into the circumstances of this attack.

‘Ain Al Insaniyah for Rights and Development’ is a human rights organization dedicated to monitoring human rights and humanitarian law violations in Yemen, and it has published numerous reports detailing the transgressions of Saudi Arabia and its allies in the country.
