US State Department Claims ‘Productive’ Talks with Iran, Presents Two Options for Tehran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Tommy Pigott, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, claimed that meetings with Iranian officials were positive. He stated that President Trump has presented Iran with two options: to persist with its “malevolent” actions and bear the ensuing consequences, or to opt for a path of peace and prosperity.

Pigott added that the United States believes the option of peace and prosperity would be the best choice for Iran. He emphasized that President Trump is determined to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Previously, Ismail Bakhaii, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commented on reports of Iran-U.S. negotiations in New York, stating that the engagement with the American side was facilitated through Qatari mediation. He explained that this interaction aimed to convey Iran’s conditions, which include an end to conflicts on all fronts, a halt to aggressive U.S. actions, the lifting of naval blockades and economic warfare, and the release of Iran’s assets.
