Eight U.S. Navy Sailors Die by Suicide During Combat Mission Against Iran
Eight U.S. Navy sailors serving aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group committed suicide during a combat mission involving operations against Iran, according to the acting Secretary of the U.S. Navy. All sailors belonged to the carrier strike group and its escort vessels.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, acting U.S. Navy Secretary Hang Cao announced that eight U.S. Navy sailors serving with the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group committed suicide during a mission that included combat operations against Iran. These figures encompass sailors from the aircraft carrier, its air wing, escort ships, and other units within the Abraham Lincoln strike group.
The acting secretary clarified that no sailors lost their lives as a direct result of suicide attempts during this specific mission. The deployment involved approximately 6,000 to 7,000 military personnel and kept the USS Abraham Lincoln at sea for over six months.
