Trump Administration Finalizes Record $22 Billion in Arms Deals with Israel
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, data published by Mehr News Agency, citing Quds Press Network, indicates a significant acceleration in arms deals and military aid to the Israeli regime during Donald Trump‘s presidency. Official statements from the White House to Congress and State Department figures confirm a rapid pace of these transactions. The total value of these finalized deals approaches $19.2 billion, excluding the most recent agreement valued at $2.8 billion.
These figures span the period from January 20, 2025, to September 17 of the current year. The Trump administration has systematically approved and notified Congress of a series of arms deals, encompassing heavy bombs, guided munitions, Apache helicopters, assault vehicles, and missile systems.
In several instances, the administration invoked emergency authorities to bypass standard congressional review processes, thereby expediting the delivery of weaponry to Israel.
These agreements follow years of consistent U.S. military support for Israel during the tenure of former President Joe Biden. A study by Brown University estimates that military aid and contracts approved by Biden from October 2023 to early 2025 amounted to approximately $17.9 billion.
American-made weapons and munitions were extensively used in the Israeli regime’s operations against the Gaza Strip, a conflict resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians, including a substantial number of women and children.
New $2.8 Billion Deal
In its most recent arms action, the U.S. State Department informally notified the offices of four senior members of both the Republican and Democratic parties on relevant congressional committees last week of the administration’s intent to prepare a new $2.8 billion deal with the Israeli regime.
Published details reveal this contract includes 40,000 bombs, each weighing 2,000 pounds. Additionally, it comprises 20,000 BLU-117 bombs and 20,000 I-2000 bunker-buster warheads.
The 2,000-pound bombs are among the heaviest conventional aerial ordnance and possess significant destructive power. These munitions are capable of penetrating thick concrete structures and layers.
Despite some opposition within the Democratic Party to similar arms deals, the administration retains the authority to expedite the usual congressional review path through emergency procedures, a power the Trump administration also utilized for previous deals with Israel.
