Russian Air Defenses Neutralize 40 Ukrainian Drones
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense forces successfully neutralized 40 Ukrainian drones over various Russian regions, including Bryansk, Belgorod, Kursk, and Tver, during the previous night. The announcement was made citing data published by the Mehr News Agency, which quoted RIA Novosti.
The Russian Ministry of Defense further stated that the country’s armed forces conducted a broad overnight operation targeting Ukrainian military industry facilities, telecommunication and logistical centers in Kyiv and the Odesa region, as well as naval assets being utilized for the benefit of the Ukrainian armed forces.
It is noteworthy that Russian President Vladimir Putin, on February 21, 2022, recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region, criticizing the West’s disregard for Moscow’s security concerns. Three days later, on Thursday, February 24, 2022, Vladimir Putin initiated a military operation, which he termed a “special operation,” against Ukraine, thereby escalating the tense Moscow-Kyiv relations into military confrontation.
In response to Russia’s actions, the United States and Western countries have imposed extensive sanctions against Moscow and have supplied Kyiv with billions of dollars in weaponry and military equipment.
