Ansar Allah Scoffs at Saudi Reliance on Foreign Powers for Yemen Victory
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mohammed Al-Fara, a member of Ansar Allah’s political bureau in Yemen, has derided Saudi Arabia’s stance on the international community’s ability to resolve the Yemen conflict and defeat Ansar Allah. He asserted that reliance on foreign powers to achieve Riyadh’s goals exposes Saudi Arabia’s inadequacy in facing Yemenis directly.
In a message posted on his personal account on the social media platform ‘X’, Al-Fara stated, “It is surprising that Saudi officials continuously claim the international community will destroy the Houthi movement, while simultaneously attempting to establish Saudi dominance on Yemeni soil.” According to him, this approach hinges on the hope of leveraging foreign forces to attain objectives that Riyadh has been unable to achieve militarily.
He characterized these hopes as “delusional fantasies of the incapable and defeated,” emphasizing that the international community is not a monolithic entity that acts according to the desires of a single nation, nor is it an apparatus subservient to Riyadh that can be mobilized to fulfill Saudi demands.
Al-Fara further explained that major international powers operate based on their own interests and calculations, and Saudi Arabia lacks the standing to impose its will upon them. Instead, these countries leverage their relationship with Riyadh to advance their own political, economic, and strategic interests.
The Ansar Allah political bureau member accused the international powers engaged with Saudi Arabia of exploiting the kingdom’s financial resources. He noted that certain nations view Riyadh through the lens of its economic reserves and spending capacity, treating it as a source of funding and energy. Consequently, the promises made by these powers to Saudi leaders are more closely linked to their own interests than to the realization of Saudi objectives in Yemen.
He added that political and economic extortion from Saudi Arabia is a consequence of the country’s reliance on foreign support and coalitions rather than direct confrontation. International powers understand that Riyadh is unwilling to engage directly with Yemenis, which prompts Saudi Arabia to gather forces, utilize mercenaries, and form regional and international alliances.
Al-Fara also pointed out that Saudi Arabia’s dependence on foreign forces places it at the mercy of its allies’ calculations. These allies may offer political and military promises, but their execution is contingent on their own interests and assessments. He further stated that relying on the mobilization of international or regional forces to resolve the war will not change anything or diminish the capabilities of Yemenis to counter foreign intervention. According to him, Sana’a views this confrontation as a battle for sovereignty and independence, and an opposition to foreign guardianship.
Al-Fara also criticized the reliance on local mercenary military and paramilitary formations, saying that preferring mercenaries and coalitions over direct confrontation reveals the nature of the calculations guiding Saudi Arabia’s actions in Yemen.
