Zelensky Sets Conditions for Halting Russian Oil Refinery Attacks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Kyiv is ready to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries on the condition that Moscow stops its assaults on Ukraine‘s energy infrastructure. In a message posted on social media platform X on Sunday, Zelensky emphasized that any move toward de-escalation must be mutual and accompanied by tangible guarantees. He asserted that Russia is solely responsible for initiating the war in Europe and suggested that an end to attacks on energy facilities could commence immediately, though he claimed President Vladimir Putin lacks the desire to do so. These remarks followed criticism of Ukraine’s strikes on Russian refineries by U.S. President Donald Trump, who called for their cessation. Trump also alluded to his own agreement with Putin concerning the supply of diesel fuel to American and global markets, accusing Zelensky of being unable to end the war and calling for his replacement.
