White House Press Secretary Departs Weeks After Appointment

White House Press Secretary Katty Zarkia has been removed from her position shortly after assuming the role, following advice from President Donald Trump to reconsider her tenure.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Katty Zarkia has been removed from her role as White House Press Secretary. The announcement was made by a White House official on Friday, according to Reuters.

The departure comes after President Donald Trump stated he had advised Zarkia to reconsider her continued service in the position. Trump told reporters as he departed the White House that he suggested Zarkia might seek her own peace and satisfaction, as he described the role as not easy.

He further elaborated that he had candidly advised her to rethink her continued employment. Fox News, citing a White House official, also reported that Zarkia is exiting the press secretary role.

Zarkia had commenced her duties on Monday and held her first press briefing at the White House on Tuesday. She had previously stated that she was contacted about the position the previous Wednesday and received the offer to succeed Caroline Levitt, the former press secretary, on Friday. Trump subsequently announced her appointment, introducing Zarkia as an attorney.

Last week, Zarkia’s legal background, as a graduate of the University of Pepperdine School of Law in California, came under scrutiny, with questions raised about her passing the bar exam. Zarkia announced in an interview with Fox News on Thursday that she had not passed the bar exam. Reuters reported that prior to Zarkia, Anthony Scaramucci also served only 10 days as White House Communications Director during Trump’s first term.
