US Central Command Chief Claims Iran’s Maritime Blockade Persists, US Undermining Tehran’s Regional Power

The Commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has asserted that Iran’s maritime blockade is ongoing, claiming that U.S. actions have weakened Tehran’s ability to project power beyond its borders. He further alleged that commercial vessels continue to transit the Strait of Hormuz despite Iranian attacks.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, CENTCOM Commander General Brad Cooper has claimed that Iran‘s maritime blockade continues, stating that the United States has diminished Tehran’s capacity to exert influence outside its national borders. Cooper alleged that commercial vessels are still navigating the Strait of Hormuz, with approximately 400 ships transiting the vital waterway over the past seven days, despite Iranian actions.

The CENTCOM commander also stated that the U.S. has so far prevented at least $25 billion worth of crude oil exports from Iran. He further claimed that the United States assisted its partners in the Persian Gulf region last week with the transfer of over 100 million barrels of oil, without referencing U.S. policy in the Strait of Hormuz.
