Belgium: Syria’s neighbors must act responsibly

According to Mehr News Agency, The Deputy Foreign Minister of Belgium regarding developments in Syria told Al Jazeera: It is important to have a peaceful political process that takes into account all groups of the Syrian people.

This Belgian official continued: Justice in the transfer of power and accountability is a very important issue that the Syrian people decide about. It is important that the process of political transition is comprehensive. All Syrian groups must be present in the transitional phase.

He then claimed: What is important for us is the observance of human rights and international laws in Syria. The elements of resolution 2254 are good and contribute to a process that respects ethnic diversity and preserves the national sovereignty of this country.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium added in a conversation with Al-Jazeera: Syria’s neighbors should act responsibly and help the success of the peaceful (power) transfer process.
