Pope Leo XIV inaugurated donates ring meets Zelensky video included
According to webangah News Agency, the inauguration of pope Leo XIV is currently taking place at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, Italy.
The ceremony is being held before world leaders and high-ranking officials. Earlier today, Pope Leo XIV toured St. Peter’s Square in the papal vehicle,where approximately 250,000 people had gathered to pay their respects.
Robert Provost, 69, was elected as the new leader of the Catholic Church earlier this month following Pope Francis’ death, choosing the name Leo XIV.His selection during the conclave lasted less than 26 hours.
Born in Chicago in 1955 with dual American-Peruvian citizenship, Provost becomes pope amid significant global attention. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are representing America at today’s ceremony – notable given Vance had met with Pope Francis just before his passing. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also attending.
