David Zini Netanyahu Family’s Beloved General Takes Over as New Shin Bet Chief
According to webangah News Agency, citing Palestinian media reports, David Zini’s appointment as the new chief of the Zionist regime’s Shin Bet has spotlighted his background and affiliations. Hebrew-language media describe him as a close confidant of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and popular with Netanyahu’s wife, Sara.
Zini was born in 1974 in occupied Jerusalem and is a prominent figure within the Zionist regime’s military. he began his service in 1992 with the elite Sayeret Matkal unit and later commanded key forces,including the Egoz commando unit of the Golani Brigade. In 2015, he founded the Oz Brigade, a special forces division.
A father of 11 children, zini is a leading figure in religious Zionism. He was promoted to brigadier general in june 2023. His career highlights include early warnings about potential surprise attacks against the Zionist regime. However, his involvement in controversial projects—such as establishing the “Hashmonaim Battalion” to recruit ultra-orthodox Jews into military service—has sparked backlash among Orthodox communities.
