Reports indicate federal forces clashed with demonstrators during a second consecutive night of unrest,firing stun grenades at crowds and blocking a section of freeway amid police raids targeting undocumented immigrants.
The confrontation occurred in Paramount near a Home Depot store being used by federal immigration authorities as an operational base. Local media and social media footage showed masked agents deploying tear gas and flashbangs against protesters.
Since taking office in January 2025, trump has vowed strict enforcement against illegal immigration – describing undocumented migrants as “monsters” and “animals” while promising mass deportations.
Democratic Governor Newsom criticized the troop deployment on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “This is deliberate provocation that only escalates tensions.We’re closely coordinating with local officials – all current needs are being met.”
