Medvedev’s Plan to Counter Trump’s Contradictory Statements
Dmitry medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, asserted that Moscow should concentrate on fulfilling the goals of its special military operation in Ukraine rather than paying attention to unstable remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, according to a report by webangah News Agency citing TASS.
Medvedev referenced Trump’s inconsistent statements about Ukraine and his recent phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, remarking: “The Americans are once again riding their favorite political seesaw.”
“The question is how we should respond?” Medvedev continued. “As we’ve done before. As our Commander-in-Chief does – by ignoring it wholly. We must continue pursuing the objectives of our special military operation: reclaiming our land and striving for victory.”
Trump has made contradictory claims in recent months regarding alleged U.S. efforts to resolve the Ukraine conflict – sometiems reversing positions within a single day.
The volatility extends to his characterization of conversations with Putin – praising their dialog one moment while expressing disappointment shortly after. The U.S. President has shown similar inconsistency regarding Washington’s aid to Kyiv, announcing plans for additional military assistance this week just days after suspending weapons shipments.
