Saudi “Sleeping Prince” Dies After More Than Two Decades in Coma
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Saudi media reported that Prince alwaleed bin Khalid bin Talal Al Saud died on Saturday, July 19, after enduring a prolonged coma. He passed away in a specialized medical center in Saudi Arabia.
His father, Prince Khalid bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, announced his son’s death on his personal social media account on X (formerly Twitter).
Born in April 1990, Alwaleed was one of the distinguished students at the Saudi Military College. In 2005, he suffered severe brain injury during a car accident and fell into a coma. As than, he had been under continuous medical care.
For more than two decades, Prince Alwaleed’s story drew significant attention from people across Saudi Arabia and the Arab world. throughout these years, his father kept hope alive by sharing photos and videos documenting his son’s treatment progress.
