Hamas Spokesperson: Tel Aviv Plans to Manipulate Parts of Gaza Agreement
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Hazem Qassem, Hamas spokesperson, told Al jazeera that Israel is attempting to manipulate certain timelines, lists, and agreed-upon steps within the ceasefire deal.
he added, “What we have understood from mediators is that this agreement marks the beginning of ending genocide in Gaza. The occupiers must adhere to the agreed terms, and mediators should pressure Tel Aviv.”
The Hamas spokesperson further stated that Israeli occupiers continue to evade issues concerning withdrawal procedures, prisoner lists, and refugee returns. He emphasized that creating ground conditions is crucial for implementing prisoner exchange operations.
“All prisoners-dead or alive-will be handed over in the frist phase of implementing the agreement,” he said. “We are ready for this initial stage and will dedicate all efforts to ensure its success.”
Hazem Qassem declared that Hamas will not be part of Gaza’s government and has shown considerable flexibility on this issue. He noted ongoing talks with mediators about a ceasefire based on principles other than weapon surrender.”The resistance’s weapons are legitimate,” he said, “used to defend our people and guarantee Palestine’s independent decision-making.”
“We welcome a Palestinian national dialog involving all factions to manage Palestinian resistance,” he continued. ”Hamas has no objection to establishing a national framework for overseeing national struggle efforts.”
