Israeli General: Netanyahu Can Never Defeat Hamas
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Shihab, retired Israeli army general Yisrael (Isaac) Brick wrote in an article for Maariv newspaper that Netanyahu will never achieve his goal of wholly defeating Hamas.
He added that Netanyahu’s objective is unattainable and that the ongoing war in Gaza will damage Israel’s relations with the world.
Brick also stated that the reason Hamas signed the ceasefire agreement was not due to military pressure from the Israeli army.
He continued, saying if the war had proceeded according to Netanyahu’s intentions, Israel would have reached a deadlock.
The Financial Times previously acknowledged that Hamas began retaking control of Gaza just hours after reaching a ceasefire deal with Israel.
Arab media also reported that Hamas has mobilized about seven thousand of its security forces to monitor various areas in Gaza recently vacated by Israeli troops.
