Moscow Protests Japan’s Military Drill Near Russia’s Eastern Borders

The Russian Ministry of ⁣Foreign Affairs, in a formal protest note delivered to the Japanese Embassy in Moscow, affirmed its right to take security measures regarding Typhoon missiles at the U.S. base in Japan.

According to the ⁤English section ⁤of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News agency and⁢ Al Mayadeen,the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued​ a statement confirming it had handed a protest note to the Japanese Embassy in Moscow opposing Japan’s military exercises near Russia’s borders.

The ministry stated that Japan was informed these exercises near ‌Russia’s borders pose‌ a security threat to ​Russia’s Far East region.

It emphasized that Russia reserves the right to take security measures concerning Typhoon missiles stationed at ⁤the U.S. base in‌ Japan.

In September last year,⁤ the United States ‌and Japan ⁣conducted an extensive military exercise named “Resolute Dragon 25,” described as their largest joint drill.

According ⁣to Japan’s Ministry of Defense, this exercise ran⁤ from September 11 to 25 and involved more than 14,000 personnel from ⁣Japan Self-Defense Forces alongside nearly 5,000 American troops from various army, ⁢navy, marine corps,​ and air⁢ force units.
