Putin: Negotiating with Kazakhstan to Boost Rare Earth Element Mining

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Sputnik News via Mehr News Agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin described Wednesday’s talks with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as constructive and fruitful.
Putin stated that international issues, especially economic cooperation, featured heavily in their discussions. A key outcome was the signing of a document elevating Russia-Kazakhstan relations to a thorough partnership level.
He added that payments between the two countries using national currencies now exceed 90 percent. Energy cooperation continues to steadily expand. Russia and Kazakhstan are currently negotiating plans to deepen collaboration in rare earth element extraction.
Additionally, Putin noted that Gazprom is exploring expanding gas supplies to Kazakhstan, including in it’s northern and eastern regions.
