Pentagon Approves Sale of Fighter Jet Parts to Taiwan

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, the Pentagon stated in a release that this new approval strengthens Taiwan’s ability to confront current and future threats. It also ensures the continued operation of Taiwan’s F-16, C-130, and other fighter aircraft fleets.
Reuters described this arms package as the first US weapons deal with taiwan during Donald Trump’s second presidential term.
Taiwan’s Presidential Office expressed gratitude towards Washington for its weapon sales and support in boosting the island’s defense capabilities.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense announced that the sale will be implemented within one month. The equipment will maintain fighter jet capabilities, enhance air defense, and increase responsiveness against incursions by Chinese aircraft into border areas.
Lyn Jian, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responded by stating that Taiwan is a “primary red line” in China-US relations.
