Israeli Media: Netanyahu Considers Removing Katz

According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Al-Mayadeen, this growth comes amid escalating tensions between Yisrael Katz and Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff of the Israel Defence Forces.
Former IDF Chief Gadi Eisenkot described the situation as “foolish” and said Netanyahu must put an end to it.
“Israel faces challenges on four fronts: Iran has restored its missile capabilities, Lebanon is on the brink of explosion, fighting continues in Gaza, and the West Bank remains volatile,” Eisenkot said. “Under these conditions, Katz has chosen to confront both the Chief of Staff and the army.”
israeli media report that Netanyahu met separately with Katz and Zamir on Tuesday in an effort to ease their public disputes. He had initially planned a joint meeting but ultimately decided to meet them individually-first Katz, then Zamir.
Some reports have dismissed the possibility of a three-way meeting altogether, suggesting that Katz may have refused to attend such a session.
The rift between katz and Zamir deepened after Katz ordered a review of the IDFS internal investigation into its failures during the Palestinian resistance attack on October 7, 2023.
Katz also decided to freeze appointments for senior military positions for 30 days-a move Zamir accused of being political interference that undermines army readiness.
