Russia Announces Free Trade Agreement Between Iran and Eurasian Economic Union is Now Active

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has officially commenced, marking a significant step in strengthening economic ties.

According to the Economic Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated that the implementation of the free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union is now underway. Mishustin made this announcement during a session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

Mishustin also noted that agreements have been signed with the United Arab Emirates and Mongolia, further expanding trade opportunities for the EAEU member states. He added that the first round of negotiations with India took place in late November.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum to develop new and sustainable supply chains and enhance the presence of member countries’ products in global markets.

Mishustin highlighted the need to strengthen connectivity and transit coordination within the Eurasian region. He stated that it is crucial to implement modern solutions, particularly in modernizing logistics infrastructure and digitalizing transport corridors.

According to Mishustin, the use of innovative solutions is essential not only for increasing the capacity of existing routes but also for expanding trade with countries that are not members of the Eurasian Economic Union.
