US Prepares to Seize More Venezuelan Oil Tankers
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Reuters reported, citing informed sources, that the U.S. is gearing up to seize more oil tankers in Venezuelan waters.
The news follows a report by Axios that the U.S. government imposed new sanctions on nephews of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as part of its ongoing pressure campaign against Caracas. These sanctions include the blacklisting of six Venezuelan oil tankers.
These actions come a day after the seizure of a Venezuelan oil tanker in a coordinated operation involving the U.S. Coast Guard, the FBI, and Homeland Security. Donald Trump confirmed the tanker’s seizure, describing it as the largest confiscation under U.S. sanctions enforcement. The White House spokesperson stated that the U.S. would confiscate the tanker and redirect it to an American port.
