Russia Claims Downing 235 Ukrainian Drones in Crimea and Border Regions

Russian defense systems reportedly intercepted and destroyed 235 Ukrainian drones overnight, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The attacks targeted Crimea and various border regions, escalating tensions amid ongoing peace talks.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 235 Ukrainian drones over the past night.

The initial report indicated that between 8 PM and 11 PM Moscow time on December 13, air defense systems downed 94 Ukrainian drones. From 11 PM that same day until 7 AM on December 14, an additional 141 drones were intercepted and destroyed.

Specific locations where the drones were reportedly downed include: 35 drones in the Bryansk region, 32 in the Republic of Crimea, 22 in the Krasnodar region, 15 in the Tula region, 13 in the Kaluga region, 7 in the Kursk region, 4 in the Ryazan region, 4 in the Rostov region, 3 in the Belgorod region, 2 in the Leningrad region, and one drone each in the Smolensk, Pskov, Novgorod, and Moscow regions.

Despite ongoing negotiations for peace in Ukraine, conflict continues in various eastern regions of the country with no reduction in hostilities.
