Morocco Flood Death Toll Rises to 37 in Asfi Province
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Moroccan authorities have confirmed that the number of fatalities resulting from the floods in Asfi province has increased to 37. The coastal province of Asfi, which faces the Atlantic Ocean, has been severely impacted by torrential rains.
Local authorities in Asfi province stated that 32 injured individuals have received medical assistance, with the majority discharged from the hospital after receiving necessary care. However, some remain under medical supervision.
Officials added that the intense rainfall, lasting just one hour, caused approximately 70 homes and shops to flood, overturned and swept away 10 vehicles, and resulted in the closure of numerous roads in and around the city of Asfi. Rescue operations are ongoing.
Local authorities have also announced that field operations are underway to secure affected areas and provide immediate assistance to residents.
The incident has been described as an exceptional situation, and responsible authorities have stated that all resources have been mobilized to support the population and mitigate the effects of this natural disaster.
