Russian representative: The second UN meeting for Afghanistan will be held soon

According to the regional office of Tasnim news agency, “Zamir Kabulov, Putin’s special representative for Afghanistan and director of the second Asian department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told “Tass” news agency: “Soon, another international meeting will be held with the mediation of the United Nations and the presence of special representatives of countries for Afghanistan.” p style=”text-align:justify”>Kabulov, in response to whether Moscow is planning a meeting on Afghanistan, said: We are planning a series of extensive international events on Afghanistan.
He further noted: In the spring of this year, after the report of his special coordinator on Afghanistan, the UN Secretary General held a meeting with the presence of special representatives of the countries hosted by Qatar.
Kabulov added: Now a new report about Afghanistan has been presented and distributed. We need to study it thoroughly because he [the UN Secretary-General] has said that after analyzing all the relevant parties, he would like to bring everyone back together to discuss it.
Putin’s special representative added: “With this in mind, we are in no rush, we will first look at the report, which has already started, and then probably an invitation will come from New York.”
The first round of the Afghanistan conference was held behind closed doors on the 11th and 12th of May at the initiative of Antonio Guterres, but the details were not made available to the public.
That meeting was attended by special representatives of Russia, England, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, China, Norway, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia, America, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Japan, as well as representatives from the European Union and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation were held.
