White House Announces Formation of ‘Peace Council’ as Part of Trump’s Gaza War-Ending Plan

The White House has unveiled a ‘Peace Council’ to oversee the implementation of President Donald Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the war in Gaza, coinciding with the establishment of a Palestinian National Committee to administer the territory.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the White House announced on Friday the formation of a ‘Peace Council,’ a key component of the second phase of President Donald Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza. The council will provide strategic oversight for the 20-point plan, which focuses on sustainable peace, stability, reconstruction, and economic development in the region.

The Peace Council, chaired by President Trump, includes prominent figures such as U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, American billionaire Mark Rowan, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and U.S. political advisor Robert Gabriel. Each member has been assigned specific responsibilities in governance, regional relations, reconstruction, and investment.

Additionally, the ‘Gaza Executive Council’ has been established to support the High Representative’s office and the Palestinian National Committee for Gaza Administration. Its objectives include strengthening governance, accelerating essential services, and promoting stability for Gaza’s residents. Notable members include UN Special Envoy Nikolay Mladenov, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Qatari diplomat Ali Al-Thawadi, and Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad.

The U.S. has appointed General Jasper Jeffers to command an international stabilization force tasked with monitoring ceasefires, disarming Gaza, and protecting civilians. The Palestinian National Committee, led by former Palestinian Planning Minister Ali Shaath, will manage daily operations in Gaza, focusing on rebuilding infrastructure and restoring stability.

The initiative aligns with UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025), which endorses Trump’s plan and welcomes the Peace Council as an international mechanism for conflict resolution. Several Arab nations, including Saudi Arabia and Jordan, have expressed support for the initiative, emphasizing the need for a two-state solution and humanitarian aid.
