Iraqi Forces Implement Unprecedented Security Measures Along Syrian Border

Iraqi security forces have deployed unprecedented security measures along the western Anbar province border with Syria to counter suspected ISIS movements, according to a local security source.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi security forces have enacted unprecedented security measures in the western Anbar province bordering Syria. A security source in Anbar confirmed the deployment, citing the need to prevent terrorist infiltration following reports of suspicious movements by ISIS-affiliated elements in desert areas near the Al-Qa’im border crossing.
The source emphasized that the rugged terrain of Anbar’s desert regions presents significant challenges, prompting security forces to establish checkpoints at key entry and exit points in the western part of the province. Similar measures have been implemented near the Trebil border crossing with Jordan and the Arar crossing with Saudi Arabia.
