EU Condemns Israeli Surveillance Measures in West Bank

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the European Union has strongly condemned the decision by Israeli authorities to escalate “surveillance and control measures” in Palestinian-controlled areas of the occupied West Bank. The condemnation was issued today, Monday, following reports detailed by Mehr News Agency.
Anwar al-Ghanouni, spokesperson for the EU’s foreign and security policy, addressed reporters during a daily press briefing, labeling the decision as a misstep. Al-Ghanouni emphasized that such actions could potentially disrupt the existing status quo at religious sites in the region.
Al-Ghanouni reiterated the EU’s position of not recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied territories, asserting that any annexation of these areas is illegal under international law. He further stated the EU’s commitment to working with international partners to pursue the so-called two-state solution.
