Iraqi Resistance Groups Agree to 24-Hour Ceasefire Amid U.S.-NATO Request for Troop Withdrawal

Iraqi resistance factions have agreed to a 24-hour ceasefire in response to a request from the United States and NATO for safe passage to withdraw forces from Baghdad’s Victoria base to Turkey. The agreement is contingent on assurances that Al-Hashd al-Shaabi positions will not be targeted.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States and NATO have requested Iraqi resistance groups to observe a 24-hour ceasefire to facilitate the withdrawal of their forces from Victoria base in Baghdad to Turkey. This development was reported by Iraqi media, citing a statement from Abu Mahdi al-Jafari, the military spokesperson for the Islamic resistance group Saraya Awliya Al-Dam.

Al-Jafari indicated that the majority of Iraqi resistance groups have accepted this request, with the crucial condition that no positions of Al-Hashd al-Shaabi, stretching from Samarra to Karbala, will be subjected to any attacks.

Emphasizing the resolve of the resistance, Abu Mahdi al-Jafari issued a stern warning: “If they return to carrying out attacks, we will prepare hell for the infidels.”

The spokesperson for Saraya Awliya Al-Dam further asserted that American forces are currently confined solely to the Kurdistan Region, stating that resistance groups have successfully cleared them from all other locations within Iraq.

In its most recent communiqué, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance declared that it had conducted 21 operations over a 24-hour period, employing dozens of drones and missiles against the occupying forces’ bases within Iraq and the wider region.
