UK Urges Hezbollah Disarmament Amidst Calls for Lebanon Ceasefire
The United Kingdom has called for the disarmament of Hezbollah, emphasizing the critical need for all parties to uphold a ceasefire in Lebanon and cease attacks against Israel, as diplomatic efforts are reportedly being undermined by escalating tensions.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency,
In a statement reflecting a clear alignment with Israel, UK Minister of State for the Middle East, Alistair Burt, has asserted that the Lebanese group Hezbollah must cease its attacks on Israel. Burt indicated that the continuous escalation of tensions in Lebanon would weaken diplomatic endeavors.
The British official also advocated for the disarmament of Hezbollah, urging all parties involved to respect the existing ceasefire. He further stated that the parties in conflict should pursue negotiations led by the United States.
