G20 Ministers Urge End to US-Iran Conflict Amid Energy Price Concerns

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, G20 finance ministers participating in a meeting in North Carolina, United States, have urged for a swift end to the war between the U.S. and Iran. Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov stated on Saturday that the attending nations also voiced apprehension regarding escalating energy costs, noting that the U.S.-Iran conflict was a subject brought up by Western countries during the summit.

Siluanov elaborated in an interview with the TASS news agency, “We discussed access to energy resources and chemical fertilizers, the production of which is largely dependent on energy raw materials.” He emphasized, “It is clear that everyone is concerned about the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, the volume of oil supply from Persian Gulf countries, and energy prices.”

This development comes as senior U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant, have asserted that the Strait of Hormuz will become a “worthless waterway” in the coming years, with oil transfers rerouted via overland pipelines.
