Trump Claims Iran Will Not Charge Tolls for Strait of Hormuz Passage

U.S. President Donald Trump has asserted that Iran has informed the United States it will not levy any tolls for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, stating that no funds have been transferred to Iran and no Iranian assets have been unfrozen by the U.S. This claim comes amidst domestic pressure on the president regarding the cost of U.S. operations in Iran.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed on Wednesday that Iran has notified the United States that it will not collect any tolls for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump further stated that no money has been given to Iran and none of their assets have been released by the United States. These assertions were made while the U.S. president faces significant domestic pressure concerning the substantial financial investment in what the text describes as an illegal incursion into Iranian territory.

This statement follows previous remarks by President Trump, which were reportedly made for domestic consumption and intended to influence upcoming congressional elections. During those earlier statements, he had also presented claims against Tehran that are described as contrary to reality.
