Trump’s Running Mate Warns Iran of Retaliation Over Strait of Hormuz Threats

Vance, Vice President Donald Trump’s running mate, has reiterated threats against Iran, warning of a forceful response should the country interfere with vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Vance asserted that the United States has considerable options at its disposal regarding Iran.

Speaking to an audience, Vance claimed that President Trump has a variety of options concerning Iran, without specifying the exact nature of potential actions. He stated, “I won’t tell you exactly what will happen tonight.”

Vance alleged that Iran had pledged to cease attacks on shipping but resumed hostilities within the past 24 hours, following a period of approximately one week of improved behavior. He further elaborated on the terms of an alleged agreement, stating, “The deal with Iran is that if they shoot at ships, we will respond forcefully, and our response will be stronger.”

Vance emphasized that Iran must understand President Trump’s assertion that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open. He warned, “If Iran wants to close the Strait of Hormuz, it will face a military response from the United States.”

In a further escalation of rhetoric, Vance declared, “Either Iran will abide by its commitments, or what happened to it last night will happen again.” He concluded by stating that U.S. military action would continue as long as Iran does not cease firing at vessels.
