Iran Blocks Strait of Hormuz, Strikes U.S. Targets in Escalating Regional Tensions

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps has blocked the strategic Strait of Hormuz and launched missile strikes against U.S. bases in Jordan and Qatar, escalating regional confrontations following alleged U.S. attacks on Iranian coastal areas.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Sunday morning that it had seized two infringing vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, declaring the vital waterway temporarily blocked. The IRGC’s naval forces also reportedly destroyed logistical centers and refueling platforms of U.S. aircraft carriers. In response to what Iran described as U.S. military aggression against southern Iranian coastal areas, the IRGC’s aerospace force targeted American bases in Jordan and Qatar with ballistic missiles. These actions mark a new phase of conflict in the region.
