Moscow Expresses Concern Over Escalating Tensions in Persian Gulf

Russia’s Foreign Ministry has voiced deep concern over renewed military actions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, urging all parties to de-escalate and return to dialogue.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia has expressed significant apprehension regarding the escalation of military activities in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz region. Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated on Wednesday that Moscow is worried about the resurgence of military actions in these vital waterways.

Zakharova urged all parties involved in the Persian Gulf to cease confrontations and return to the negotiation table. She emphasized that the unpredictable nature of recent events jeopardizes prospects for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.

Moscow is calling for an immediate halt to retaliatory attacks and a resumption of discussions aimed at establishing lasting peace in the region. This statement comes in the wake of two recent U.S. incursions into Iranian territory, which occurred amidst indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington. These actions, according to the report, have demonstrated to the international community that Washington is not genuinely seeking dialogue.
