Khaled Meshaal Affirms Full Hamas Support for New Political Bureau Chief Khalil al-Hayya

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Khaled Meshaal, a leader within the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, has extended his sincere congratulations to Khalil al-Hayya following his election as the head of the movement’s Political Bureau. Meshaal affirmed the complete backing of all Hamas members for the newly elected leadership after the conclusion of the second round of presidential elections for the movement’s Political Bureau, as reported by the Mehr News Agency, quoting the Shehab News Agency.
In a statement, Meshaal declared, “At the end of the consultative and democratic process for the election of the head of Hamas’s Political Bureau, I extend my most heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to my dear brother, Khalil al-Hayya, for earning the trust of the Hamas General Council and being elected as the head of the movement’s Political Bureau. I pray to Almighty God to assist and guide him in carrying this trust during this sensitive phase and grant him success.”
He added that these elections were conducted in accordance with Hamas’s internal regulations and bylaws, within an organizational atmosphere that demonstrated adherence to the principle of consultation and respect for laws and regulations. Meshaal emphasized, “This is the approach we take pride in and strive to consolidate, as the principle of consultation is one of Hamas’s fixed tenets and a source of the movement’s strength and resilience.”
The Hamas leader noted that he had expressed his full respect for the election results to the members of the movement’s General Council the previous day. “From this moment on, I and all members of Hamas stand behind the leadership of the mujahid brother, Khalil al-Hayya, known as Abu Osama, and we are committed to cooperating with him and our other brothers in various responsibilities, with a spirit of brotherhood and synergy, to serve the Palestinian people and their cause,” he continued.
Meshaal highlighted the challenging circumstances facing the Palestinian people and their cause, stating that the current stage compels everyone to unite their efforts and mobilize to serve the people of Gaza, standing with them with all their might to overcome these difficult times with God’s help. He also underscored the necessity of supporting the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Jerusalem in their confrontation with occupation and settlement expansion, and the efforts to support Palestinian prisoners. “The interests of the nation and the Palestinian cause must be placed above all considerations, and cooperation with other national partners should be undertaken on this basis,” he stated.
Meshaal concluded by affirming, “With God’s help, we will all move forward on the path of freedom, resistance against occupation, and the realization of the Palestinian people’s aspirations for liberation, return, and independence.”
