Iraqi PM Advised Trump Against Iran Attack, Emphasized Negotiation

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi revealed that during a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, he advised against attacking Iran, stressing the importance of negotiations. Al-Zaidi also suggested that Iraq’s relationship with the United States should transition from a military one to an economic partnership, arguing that economic ties foster stronger connections between nations than military presence.

The Iraqi Premier asserted that the exclusive control of weapons by the state is the only viable path forward. He expressed his opposition to Iraq being a failed state and highlighted his government’s commitment to combating corruption and strengthening state sovereignty.

Al-Zaidi further elaborated that economic development and job creation are the true foundations of stability, as citizens with a promising future are less likely to turn to conflict or ethno-nationalism. He indicated discussions were held regarding the establishment of a 30-year investment partnership between Iraq and the United States, focusing on capital and technology rather than a military presence.

The Prime Minister noted that recent conflicts and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz have inflicted significant economic damage on Iraq. He appealed to investors to view Iraq as a promising investment opportunity and affirmed his readiness to accept the consequences of his reform initiatives.
