US Embassy in Jordan Issues Security Alert to Citizens Amid Regional Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency citing the U.S. Embassy in Jordan’s website, the Washington embassy in Amman issued a statement warning its citizens in the country. This alert follows Tehran’s retaliatory response to illegal U.S. incursions into Iranian territory and the killing of several American military personnel in Jordan.

The security warning addressed to U.S. citizens in Jordan states: “Please refer to the website of the National Center for Security and Crisis Management of Jordan for public safety instructions, including explanations regarding emergency sirens in Jordan.” It further advises citizens to “avoid any demonstrations and large gatherings” and to “stay away from all areas where there is a strong police presence.” The embassy also recommends monitoring local media and following the instructions of local authorities. U.S. citizens are urged to “exercise caution and be vigilant in locations publicly associated with the United States.”
