NATO Intern Arrested in Belgium on Suspicion of Espionage

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Belgian prosecutors announced on Saturday that a Canadian woman of Chinese descent, who was interning at NATO‘s military headquarters in Belgium, has been apprehended on charges of espionage. The Federal Prosecutor’s Office stated in a release that she is suspected of spying for a third country and being part of a criminal organization. The statement further indicated that the woman was employed as an intern at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), a NATO command center located in Mons, Belgium. No further details regarding her identity or the name of the country and organization she is suspected of spying for were provided in the statement.
