Israeli Analyst Warns West Bank on Brink of Explosion Amid Escalating Violence
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yossi Yehoshua, a military affairs analyst for the Israeli regime, has stated that the likelihood of an explosion of events in the West Bank is greater than the possibility of war with Iran. Yehoshua also indicated that Israeli military officials acknowledge the West Bank is on the verge of a security breakout, citing the deployment of forces on various fronts.
This warning comes in the wake of intensified attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian cities and villages. In recent days, settlers have assaulted over 10 areas in the northern West Bank, setting fire to Palestinian homes and vehicles. More than 10 individuals were reported killed or injured in these assaults.
Concurrently, the Israeli military has increased its troop presence, raids, and widespread arrests across different regions of the West Bank.
Former Israeli official Michael Milstein, who previously managed the Palestinian file in the Israeli military’s intelligence branch, commented that the era of “miracles” in the West Bank is drawing to a close, as settler attacks on Palestinian areas are no longer concluding without casualties.
He emphasized that settler attacks have become a direct catalyst for the recent surge in clashes in the West Bank. Milstein added that the concept of “revolution,” as articulated by Israeli Finance Minister Betzalel Smotrich, signifies the seizure of Palestinian lands and the execution of ethnic cleansing operations in the West Bank.
The former Israeli official noted that criticisms from former Israeli officers and officials regarding settler behavior stem from their concerns about the Israeli regime’s image and security, rather than any genuine defense of Palestinians or opposition to violence.
In the latest developments in the West Bank, Israeli forces opened fire on Refidiya Street during an ongoing raid in Nablus. Occupation forces also harassed and beat a number of Palestinian citizens upon entering the town of Huwara, south of Nablus. These forces stopped several Palestinian vehicles on Huwara Street, impeding traffic flow on the main road.
