Iraq Opens Key Traffic Route for Arbaeen Pilgrims Heading to Karbala

Iraq’s Security Media Cell announced on Sunday the opening of a vital traffic route connecting Baghdad to Karbala, aimed at facilitating the movement of Arbaeen pilgrims. The newly opened path is designated to ease congestion and enhance the safety of those traveling to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraq’s Security Media Cell announced on Sunday the opening of an important and strategic traffic route to facilitate and smooth the movement of pilgrims traveling from Baghdad to Karbala to participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). This information was published by Mehr News Agency, citing Al-Sumaria News.

In an official statement, the cell declared that the Baghdad – Al-Fadhiliya Bridge – Juraf al-Nasr route to the city of Karbala will be opened to pilgrims starting from 2:00 PM local time today, Sunday. This measure is intended to streamline the passage of Arbaeen pilgrims departing from Baghdad for Karbala.

The statement further indicated that this action is part of the implementation of special security and service plans for the Arbaeen ceremony. The objective is to reduce traffic load on other main axes, increase traffic flow, and ensure the security and ease of access for pilgrims to the holy city of Karbala.
