China Calls for Enhanced BRICS Cooperation

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the need for BRICS member states to strengthen cooperation for high-quality development and broader collaboration. Speaking during a phone call with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Monday, Xi stated that member nations must adhere to the correct path of cooperation and preserve their unity.

He highlighted the importance of achieving new practical outcomes and initiating a fresh chapter in enhancing solidarity and independent development among countries of the Global South. President Xi also affirmed Beijing’s support for Brazil in defending its sovereignty and independence, underscoring China‘s opposition to foreign interference and its backing for Brazil’s role in maintaining regional and global peace and stability.
