Pakistan Interior Minister to Visit Tehran for Iran-US Talks
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Pakistan‘s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is anticipated to visit Tehran within the next one to two days for discussions concerning the revival of talks between Iran and the United States. Informed sources indicated this upcoming visit, aiming to facilitate dialogue between the two nations.
Naqvi’s office did not respond to a request for comment from the Anadolu Agency regarding the matter. The sources highlighted that following exchanges of messages between the parties through intermediaries, efforts are underway to revive direct negotiations based on the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.” Positive developments regarding the resumption of talks are expected this week.
Washington and Tehran signed this memorandum on June 17, committing to advance negotiations within 60 days to reach a stable resolution on several disputed issues, including Iran’s peaceful nuclear program. However, hostile provocations initiated by the United States last month have cast a shadow of uncertainty over the future of this agreement.
