Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades Vow to Strengthen Resistance Arms Amid Regional Tensions

The Secretary-General of Iraq’s Hezbollah Brigades has declared a commitment to preserving and enhancing the group’s weaponry, emphasizing the need for robust deterrence against adversaries amidst significant regional turmoil and the recent passing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Al-Hamidawi, Secretary-General of Iraq‘s Hezbollah Brigades, has issued a statement asserting the group’s unwavering dedication to its arms and its continuous efforts to bolster them. This declaration comes in the wake of a year marked by “great events” impacting the Muslim Ummah, with Al-Hamidawi lamenting the “criminal wars” waged by “forces of evil and darkness” against regional nations, which have resulted in bloodshed, assassinations, and tens of thousands of casualties.

The statement highlighted the profound sorrow felt globally at the “martyrdom of the leader of the mujahideen, Seyyed Ali Khamenei (may God have mercy on him),” after a life devoted to supporting Islam, defending the oppressed, and championing the causes of the Muslim peoples. His passing is described as a “new covenant” that invigorated the spirit of steadfastness and resistance, reviving notions of honor and defiance. The immense turnout of millions for his funeral is viewed not merely as a farewell but as a renewal of allegiance to the path of the Prophet and his progeny, a commitment to the righteous path, and a deterrent against any aggressor, compelling them to pay a heavy price for their transgressions. Al-Hamidawi specifically referenced the “dangerous precedent” set by the “American-Saudi enemy’s crime against our children,” warning of consequences that could usher in a new era for the region.

Al-Hamidawi stressed that these circumstances necessitate adherence to the “weapons of resistance,” an “unshakeable commitment” to them, and their development and strengthening. He further stated the imperative to take steps towards deterrence commensurate with the scale of challenges, aiming to counter those seeking to harm them in the current conflicts.

Emphasizing both military and media jihad against enemies and their agents with “firm resolve and unwavering steadfastness,” Al-Hamidawi expressed deep appreciation for the “exceptional insight” of the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and their significant presence at this year’s Arbaeen ceremony. He noted the pilgrims’ profound attention to the “main issues facing the Islamic world,” prominently the cause of Palestine. The pilgrims voiced their anger against the enemies of the Islamic Ummah and humanity—the “Zionist-American powers and their regional proxies.” Their actions, he added, have enriched and immortalized the legacy of the martyrs. He offered gratitude to the vast number of pilgrims, congratulating them on their presence and spiritual connection, and prayed for abundant rewards and blessings for their efforts.

In conclusion, Al-Hamidawi extended sincere thanks to the custodianship and management of the holy shrines for their “extraordinary efforts” that have impressed observers and organizers of the Husseini caravans. Appreciation was also directed towards the officials of the Karbala province for their “commendable actions.” Furthermore, he proudly acknowledged the “efforts of the mujahideen, the vigilance of the security forces, and the heroes of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) who, like an impenetrable shield, guaranteed the security of the pilgrims and served them,” recognizing their vital role in ensuring the safety and smooth conduct of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
