Israeli Missile Reserves Depleted Amid Concerns Over Iranian Capabilities

Uzi Yehoshua, a military analyst for Israel‘s Channel 15, stated that American-published data suggests a reduction in interceptor missile reserves, which has constrained Tel Aviv’s military maneuverability against Iran.

Israeli security sources have repeatedly warned in recent weeks about severe budget shortfalls hindering the enhancement of the regime’s military capabilities, though they have not provided specific details regarding the nature of these deficiencies. In contrast, according to these sources, the United States has been more transparent on this matter.

These warnings coincide with reports from Western media indicating that over 81% of Israel’s strategic interceptor missile reserves, including Arrow missiles, have been consumed since the commencement of the war with Iran. Should hostilities persist, there is a possibility of these reserves being exhausted.

The Israeli military itself acknowledged a serious shortage of interceptor missiles for countering ballistic missiles in March. Israeli officials have cautioned against repeating the mistake of military unpreparedness observed before the October 7, 2023, operation. They emphasize that a shortage of interceptor missiles is no longer an issue that Benjamin Netanyahu or the public in the occupied territories can claim ignorance of, unlike in previous periods.

These sources also reported that concerns have intensified due to warnings from American officials. According to them, the U.S. military is also facing challenges in maintaining defensive readiness, with the Commander of U.S. forces in Europe issuing a warning about dwindling military reserves. This situation could reduce Washington’s capacity to continue supporting Israel and increase the likelihood of Tel Aviv facing future conflicts without full American backing.

Yesterday, informed sources revealed that since the beginning of the war with Iran, the U.S. military has expended approximately 80% of its THAAD missile defense system reserves and nearly half of its Patriot missiles.

CNN, citing a well-informed source, reported that the U.S. military has deployed nearly all of its long-range precision ground-to-ground munitions during this conflict.

According to the report, American forces have also consumed about half of their Tomahawk cruise missile reserves in the war with Iran.
