Putin, UAE President Discuss Persian Gulf, Ukraine in Phone Call

Russian President Vladimir Putin and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone conversation on Friday to discuss the situations in the Persian Gulf and Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of regional stability.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Kremlin announced on Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone call with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two leaders discussed the prevailing conditions in the Persian Gulf and Ukraine.

During their conversation, both Putin and bin Zayed underscored the significance of reaching prompt agreements to normalize the situation, taking into full account the legitimate interests of the regional countries. The Russian President also expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s role in facilitating the exchange of prisoners of war and detainees between Russia and Ukraine.

The Kremlin further stated that the leaders exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine, with President Putin briefing President bin Zayed on the progress of the special military operation. Special attention was given during the call to the escalating attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The Kremlin noted the mutual interest in continuing the development of multifaceted cooperation between Russia and the UAE, describing the discussion as friendly and constructive.
